Grimsby-Doncaster

This is an important and busy section of the South TPE route, from Grimsby Town to Habrough Junction,
the route is acompanied by trains to Barton-on-Humber and Lincoln, the latter leaving at Wrawby Junction,
near Barnetby. After Wrawby junction, the section to Scunthorpe is operated exclusively by Transpennine
Express for passenger trains - the only time this is the case on the whole Cleethorpes-Manchester Aiport
route! After Scunthorpe the South TPE trains are joined by those of Northern Rail, which stop at all
stations to Doncaster, before continuing along the South TPE line - again calling all stations, to Sheffield.
Between Scunthorpe and Doncaster, at Thorne Junction, the line from Goole and Hull joins.

All South TPE trains call, from Grimsby, at Barnetby and Scunthorpe, with all early morning and evening
services, along with alternative daytime services, calling at Habrough. Other stations between Grimsby
and Habrough are Great Coates, Healing and Stallingborough - no South TPE trains stop here. Between
Scunthorpe and Doncaster are the stations of Althorpe, Crowle, Thorne South, Hatfield & Stainforth
and Kirk Sandall, these are served by one or two late night South TPE trains, in the Cleethorpes direction.

South TPE trains are scheduled to cover the 49 miles 1 chains from Grimsby Town to Doncaster
in approximately 1h05m, an average speed of 45 miles per hour.
